Nearby Stewartby Watersports Club kindly loaned a dinghy for the weekend.
Special thanks are extended to the OnBoarders who drifted to the lee shore, to Colin who provided the most lifelike MOB we have yet seen, and to Annette who generously broke an expensive mast just as we were working through the 'How to do a full de-rig rescue for a windsurfer' procedure.
On the second day the wind obligingly gusted to thirty mph, and the self baling systems were well tested.
After watching the pathetic dingy (Ed: dinghy?) capsize antics of one of the windsurfers, Chris repeatedly demonstrated how to do it and keep one's hair dry. For some reason no-one tipped him in.
All windsurfers can now expect to have a safety boat following them around the lake, waiting for custom, as the newly graduated get in some practice.
