a great introduction into the sport teaching you the best technique to participate safely and to get the most out of your time on the water, lesson are 1 hour with a BSUPA instructor with a further hour on your own to practice and enjoy the tranquillity on water.

NOTICE. we no longer supply footwear for SUP hire, we highly recommend buying your self a pair, decathlon and sports direct often have suitable options from as little as £5, if not an old pair of trainers or other suitable alternative will suffice, footwear is not mandatory,  but there are hazards in the water, such as fresh water mussels that can injure you.

 

You don’t need lots of equipment. In fact, all you need to get you started is a paddleboard, a paddle and a leash. 

 

Stand up paddle boarding is such a versatile sport that there’s something for everyone. And although it may look like a big surfboard its use is not just for catching waves. They are great for everything from flat water cruising, getting fit, and have fun with the family. 

 

It’s quick and easy to learn the basic paddle boarding skill, allowing you to be up and paddling in no time. So don’t think you have left it too late in life… it’s never too late to learn to sup!! Whatever your age, gender or previous watersport experience, you should give it a try.

 

Stand up paddle boarding can be a full body workout; it doesn’t just focus on your arms and upper body as many people think. With the correct paddling technique you can engage your core muscles in every stroke, aiding core stability and improving balance and strength. If you paddle hard then it can be a great cardio workout too. A low impact, holistic workout, which beats the gym hands down.
